The defense of Leonardo Felipe Xavier Santiago, a Flamengo fan suspected of killing Palmeirense, said this Wednesday (12) that the young man did not throw a glass bottle at the victim, but ice.
Contrary to what the delegate responsible for the case, César Saad, said, Leonardo’s lawyers said that there was no change in the defendant’s testimony.
“Leonardo didn’t throw a bottle, he threw ice and that was in the statement from the beginning. There was no change in the testimony, what happened was a misunderstanding regarding the version presented”, declared the defense.
The freedom of the prisoner will be requested later this Wednesday and the lawyers are optimistic about the granting of the request by the Justice. The defense does not believe that there is any evidence that Leonardo is guilty.
Gabriela Anelli, 23, was hospitalized in serious condition in the ICU of Santa Casa de São Paulo, after being hit in the neck by a bottle. On Monday (10), family members reported her death.
MP asked for revocation of arrest
The Public Ministry of São Paulo requested the revocation of Leonardo’s preventive detention after identifying that the bottle had been thrown by someone else.
In the same document, the prosecutor asks that the investigation be passed on to the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP), also of the Civil Police of SP.
