Leonardo pays tribute to his brother Leandro, who would have turned 63: “Eternal longing”

The singer Leonardo, 61, provided a homage this Thursday (15) to your brother and former duo, Leandro who would be turning 63. The country singer died in 1998 aged 36, due to lung cancer.

“Today, you would have turned 63. I miss you forever, my brother Leandro,” wrote Leonardo when sharing two photos of Leandro. Together, they became known as one of the biggest country music duos in the country, with tracks such as “Talismã,” “Eu Juro,” and “Pense em Mim.”

In addition to Leonardo, Leandro’s son, Thiago Costa, 39, also used social media to pay tribute to his father. He highlighted that, although the singer died young, his passing was remarkable.

“Today, you would have been 63 years old, but God wanted your time to be short, but very significant in our hearts. Dad, wherever you are, may you feel very loved, which is what you deserve,” he declared.

“I love you from the bottom of my heart. It’s hard to say all the feelings I have. I feel privileged to have lived 13 years by your side. I love you forever.”

In addition to Thiago Costa, from his first marriage with Célia Gonçalves, Leandro left behind three other children: Lyandra Mota da Costa 28; Leandro Costa 26; and Leandro Borges 30.
