The princess will start training in August, after the summer holidays. The training of the future queen will start from Zaragoza, seat of theGeneral Military Academy; the second year, however, Leonor will be in Pontevedra, alla Escuela Naval de Marinwhile the last year will be spent in Murcia, at theAcademia General de Aire de San Javier. A complete military training, therefore, which will begin soon at the express wish of the family. In short, Leonor has no intention of wasting time, and she can’t wait to prove herself.

At the end of the military preparation, the heir to the throne will have the rank of Lieutenant, in the Army, Navy and Air Force. The career of the princess will thus follow that of her father Felipe. He too remained in the Military Academy for three years (instead of the five required in Spain) and subsequently completed his education at the University, as her daughter probably will too.

Life in Leonor’s Academy will be devoid of facilities, as will that of her colleagues and colleagues. At General, as the one in Zaragoza is known, for example, permits for cadets are rare, you sleep in classic dormitories, for 2, 4 or 12 people, and the days are marked by a fast pace, between lessons and military training.

An important new chapter, which however is not the only novelty at Zarzuela. At the end of August, Sofia, the second daughter of the sovereigns, will also take off. The Infanta has chosen to study in the same college as her older sister, as announced by the Royal House last February 7. Princesses grow up (and leave the nest).
