Comedian Eddy Jr. was at the Police Station for Repression of Racial Crimes to file a report after having suffered racist abuse by a neighbor who refused to enter the elevator with the influencer last Tuesday (18). THE Civil police will investigate the case.
For safety, the comedian left the condominium where the case happened and is in a hotel. The accused said that she will not manifest and will be fined by the condominium in more than R$ 4 thousand.
“May justice be done. My perception of racism will be the same before and after this episode. It’s fire and it’s fire,” she said. Eddy Jr.’s attorney, Carolina Novaes, said she will represent her neighbor civilly and criminally for “defamation, slander, racial slur and racism, which is a non-bailable crime.”
Last Tuesday (18), the neighbor, identified as Elisabeth Morrone, who is white, denied sharing the elevator with Eddy Jr. and made several racist slurs calling him a “monkey”, “thug” and “filthy”. He recorded it and published it on the internet.
The animosity between the two began in April. She said the neighbor was noisy and made several complaints to the condominium. He denies the problems. In September, the first Occurrence Bulletin was made. Eddy Jr. said he was threatened. Images of the condominium show Elizabeth and her son knocking on the influencer’s door. The man had a knife stuck in his shorts.

Eddy Jr. said that he has temporarily left the apartment and that, for security reasons, he is staying in a hotel. “I really want to go back to my house, I didn’t like this situation. For me to come back, that woman is going to have to get out of there,” he said.
The condominium management will fine the accused in R$4,229.10. By phone, the condominium’s lawyer, Diego Basse, said that both the notification and the ticket, referring to the fine, have already been forwarded to the resident involved in the case. According to him, the fine is provided for in the Civil Code.
Next week, according to the lawyer, an assembly will be called with all the residents to address, among other things, the matter and ratify the fine imposed. It will also be decided whether the condominium will file a lawsuit against the resident determining that she no longer has behaviors and acts that disturb the peace and are harmful to the other condominium owners.
The São Paulo Public Ministry, in a note, said that it had not yet been informed about the case. The MP has a working group dedicated to the repression of racial crimes. The Civil Police will investigate the case and listen to the others involved. Police sources say the accused can answer for the crimes of racial slur, persecution and threat to integrity.
THE CNN contacted Elizabeth Morrone. She said she will not comment on the case.
