Mr. Bratakos pointed out that any insufficiency in measures to limit the effects of the sharp wave of price increases may lead to new increases in product prices from 2022. At the same time, he cited the proposals of EVEA in order to offset, as much as possible, part of the increased charges. for the period of imbalance in the electricity market.

More specifically, EVEA’s proposals include:

-The expansion of the possibility of being included in the reduced ETMEAR scheme for all companies, with consumption being introduced as an eligibility criterion, in order to allow the inclusion of energy-intensive companies

Implementation of SGI reduction mechanism, according to the ETMEAR reduction model

– The conclusion of medium-term contracts of companies with electricity providers, based on the average total energy costs and with provision of risk insurance against extreme fluctuations of stock market prices

-Providing companies with the opportunity to choose an invoice (fixed for 1-2 years, floating with a maximum ceiling or open), in order to reduce their absolute dependence on the stock market price

-Providing the companies with the opportunity to repay the bills that have already been issued with the increased prices by the electricity providers, in a period of six months, in order to facilitate the already burdened liquidity of the companies.
