An event at the USP Law School, in Largo São Francisco, in São Paulo, marks this Thursday (11) the public reading of the “Letter to Brazilians and Brazilians in Defense of the Democratic State of Law“. The document, prepared by jurists, gathered more than 800 thousand signatures and received the support of artists and political and business leaders.
Since the content of the letter was released, president and reelection candidate Jair Bolsonaro (PL) reaffirmed respect for the Constitution, but criticized the document and said he does not need “any letter” to defend democracy. Another eight presidential candidates signed the USP letter.
In this episode of E Tem Mais, Evandro Cini presents an overview of the reactions to the demonstrations in defense of democracy just under two months before the elections. To describe the impacts and developments of the initiatives of the last few weeks, this episode brings together a panel of analysts from CNN Brazil with the participation of Iuri Pitta, Raquel Landim, Caio Junqueira and Leandro Resende.
