Polish striker Robert Lewandowski said on Monday that his history at Bayern Munich is over and that he cannot imagine staying at the German club.
“One thing is certain today – my history at Bayern is over. After everything that has happened in the last few months, I cannot imagine a good cooperation,” Lewandowski said during a press conference for the Polish national team.
“I know that a transfer will be the best solution for both sides,” he said.
Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said this month that Lewandowski had informed the club president of his desire to leave, confirming reports that the Bundesliga’s second-highest scorer of all time could be leaving despite having a contract until 2023
The 33-year-old joined Bayern in 2014 from Borussia Dortmund and has won the Bundesliga every year since, as well as the Champions League in 2020.
