According to the latest data, in the third quarter of this year, the total shipments of OLED TVs produced by LG Electronic since the start of sales in 2013 exceeded 10 million units.
It took the South Korean TV maker seven years to sell its first 5 million units, and only two years to sell another 5 million.
Analyst firm Omdia estimates that LG’s TV business grew significantly between July and September, selling 899,000 OLED TVs during that time, an 80% increase over the same period last year. A total of 2.63 million LG OLED TVs were shipped in the first nine months of this year, double the number a year ago and already more than last year’s total shipments.

LG’s average selling price of OLED TVs in the third quarter was $ 1,863.5, about three times the average selling price of LCD TVs sold globally of $ 643.50.
Total sales of OLED TVs in the third quarter were 1.53 million units. Sales are expected to exceed 2 million units in the fourth quarter, and 6.5 million units in just a year. LG accounted for more than 60% of the global OLED TV market in the last quarter.
It remains to add that all TVs in the third quarter were shipped 50.3 million units, while a year ago – 62.9 million units.
