South Korean tech giant LG Electronics continues to develop the direction of the blockchain – in the III quarter of this year, the company will release Wallypto cryptocurrency wallet.
According to the local edition of News 1 Korea, the developers are already finishing beta testing of the application. In the near future, the detected errors will be fixed and the final verification of the release version of the wallet will be launched.
The Wallypto app is built for the Hedera Hashgraph blockchain and will initially only support HTS tokens. However, in the future it is planned to expand the list of supported networks and cryptocurrencies.
LG has yet to reveal possible uses for the wallet. It may be used for various LG Electronics digital projects, including support for the LG ThinQ IoT platform.
“Blockchain is one of the new lines of business that we continue to constantly develop,” the company representative emphasized.
The fact that LG will study the prospects of blockchain and cryptocurrencies was reported back in March. At the moment, the company is actively reorganizing its unprofitable business lines and launching new ones, including in the field of blockchain.
