LG TVs received webOS update: added support for profiles and improved browser

LG has released an updated version of the webOS operating system for this year’s OLED, QNED Mini LED, NanoCell and UHD smart TVs. The update brought support for multiple accounts, and also significantly improved the built-in browser, which uses the Yandex search engine by default.

The company says that the new version of the platform has become more convenient in terms of controlling the TV. Users can add multiple accounts, and this allows you to customize the system interface. Each user not only gets quick access to their favorite services and applications, but also to personal recommendations based on their browsing history. Authorization is carried out through the built-in browser, or from a smartphone using the NFC-based Magic Tap function. The last option offers the smartphone mirroring mode on the LG TV screen.

The new Always Ready technology turns your LG TV into a multimedia display when not in use. It can be turned into an artistic painting, a photo slideshow, a clock screensaver, or music playback. The function is available in new models, it can be enabled / disabled in the settings. Also, applications of popular cinemas are already preinstalled in webOS: Kinopoisk, ivi, KION, more.tv, Premier, Okko, Start. With the Magic Remote, users can give voice commands to search for content or control the TV.
