LGBTQIA+ Parade takes crowd, diversity and 19 trios with artists to Avenida Paulista in SP

Avenida Paulista, in São Paulo, is being cleaned and then traffic will be released for vehicles after the 26th LGBTQIA+ Parade takes place, this Sunday (19). The street hosted the event that brought together thousands of people, 19 electric trios and the participation of several artists in the fight against discrimination. The stop continued towards Consolação at the end of this afternoon.

In its 26th edition, the parade resumed its face-to-face format after two years. In 2020 and 2021, the event took place only in a virtual way, with lives, due to the Covid-19 pandemic . This year, the event featured concerts and speeches throughout the afternoon.

According to the city hall of São Paulo, about 80% of the hotel chain was occupied in the city. The event had the security of 2,000 military police and 287 metropolitan civil guards.

This year’s theme was “Vote with pride – for a policy that represents”, and the event sought to reaffirm the commitment to the fight against any type of discrimination, in addition to promoting respect for diversity and the construction of affirmative policies for the LGBTQIA+ population. .

Artists such as Pabllo Vittar, Ludmilla, Lexa, Liniker, MC Rebecca, Tiago Abravanel, among others participated in this edition.

In 2019, the last year before the pandemic, the LGBTQIA+ Parade generated BRL 403 million in the city’s economy, and the event is one of the most important for the economy of the capital of São Paulo.

The organization of the parade hopes to move the São Paulo economy even further in 2022. According to Renato Viterbo, vice president of the São Paulo LGBT Parade Association, “about R$500 to 600 million” should be injected into São Paulo’s economy this week. of LGBTQIA+ Pride .
