Liam Gallagher, hammered rock: the concert in Milan

It all started with a hammer blow. «Yes, until I was 14 I was always out at play ball, I wasn’t very taken with it music». It’s strange that to tell it is Liam Gallagher, someone who has written pages of history in the musical universe. “I was smoking a cigarette with some friends, some guys came from another school, with caps, and one of them gave me a blow to the head with a hammer», he revealed to The Guardian. «I ended up in the hospital and when I woke up something had changed. The songs of Madonna that my girlfriend at the time wore, like Like a Virgin, they began to like me. I began to listen to music differently: whoever hit me, I’d like to thank him. If it wasn’t for him, I would still be unemployed».

The queue to thank this stranger, actually, it would be pretty long. Considering that a few years after the episode ‘detector‘, Liam founded together with his brother Noel one of the most influential and successful groups in the history of the Britpop movement: Oasis. Who with their music halfway between seventies rock and rock and roll have bewitched millions of fans: to be precise 2.6 million were those who asked for a ticket to the historic show dthe Knebworth Parks (August 1996, 250,000 spectators), one of the largest open-air concerts ever held in England. Seven albums, many records and as many quarrels: the band finally broke up in 2009, pushing Liam towards the solo career, after a parenthesis with i Beady Eye.
