Liam Payne canceled show at The Town due to kidney infection last year

The singer Liam Payne who died on Wednesday (16) after falling from the balcony of a Buenos Aires hotel, canceled a show he would do in Brazil in September 2023 after being diagnosed with a serious kidney infection .

He would be one of the artists on the line-up for the first edition of the festival The Town in São Paulo, and would take the stage on the day September 7th when the main attraction was the band Maroon 5. The Brit also canceled the shows he would do in Peru, Colombia, Chile and Argentina at the beginning of October.

“It is with regret that I must say that we have no choice but to postpone my upcoming tour of South America. Over the last week I have been in hospital with a serious kidney infection, it is something I would not wish on anyone, and doctors’ orders are that Now I need to rest and recover”, he wrote in the caption of the publication in which he announced the cancellation of the presentations.

The former member of the band One Direction was found dead this Wednesday (16), after falling from the third floor of a hotel in the Palermo neighborhood, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. According to the affiliate of CNN All News, police arrived at the hotel after receiving a call about a man exhibiting aggressive behavior who may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The musician’s death was confirmed by SAME – equivalent to the Brazilian SAMU. The director, doctor Alberto Crescenti, stated that Payne’s injuries resulting from the fall were fatal.

“There was no way to do anything,” explained the doctor. He clarified that Liam fell from the third floor into the inner courtyard of the hotel where he was staying.
