Libya: $ 10,000 financial aid to all families in the country approved by parliament

Its parliament Libyapassed a law providing financial assistance of about $ 10,000 to every family in the country on Monday, October 11, two months after the rival government Tripoli decided to subsidize the new couples, in view of the elections, at the end of the year.

The parliament based in Tobruk, in the east Libya, announced that it was unanimously approved to provide assistance of 50,000 dinars (8,650 euros) to all families. He did not specify the reasons that led to this decision, nor when the money will be released or what conditions the families will have to meet.

About two months ago, the transitional government based in Tripoli announced that it will provide a “wedding gift” of 40,000 dinars (6,900 euros) to 25,000 couples who will get married by the end of the year. These couples were excluded from receiving the family allowance that would be approved by parliament.

The President of Parliament Anguilla Saleh is her important political figure Cyrenaic, that is, the eastern part of the country, and a political opponent of the caretaker Prime Minister Abdelhamid Dbeiba, coming from the west Libya.

The transitional government took office earlier this year to lead the country to the December 24 presidential election.
