Aguila Saleh, the speaker of the Libyan parliament from the eastern part of the country, announced on Tuesday that oil and gas exports will not resume until the governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) is reinstated. Most of the country’s oil infrastructure is in its eastern part, and the government based there, a rival to the internationally recognized government of national unity (GNU) based in Tripoli (west), announced this week that oil and gas flows were being suspended, following the decision taken by the GCC to remove KTL commander Sadiq el-Kebir, in position since 2012.
