Liliana Segre, the voice of memory for We Can Be Heroes

Latina, Magenta, Orvieto, Castellanza. These are just some of the cities that in recent weeks have dedicated honorary citizenship to Liliana Segre, witness of the Holocaust and life senator of our Republic.

In the fifth episode of the podcast We Can Be Heroes, dedicated to the people who most inspire us in this difficult historical moment, Silvia Bombino draws a portrait of Liliana Segre that starts from when she, at just 8 years old, in 1938, is forced to leave school, from which she is expelled, to because of racial laws wanted by Mussolini.

The senator, after thirty years of meetings with young people from all over Italy, stopped in 2020, after having completed 90 years old, his path of public testimony. The podcast explains the reason for this choice, in the words of Segre herself, after having recounted the main moments of her life.
