Lilibet Diana’s debut is in mom Meghan Markle’s new book

The debut of Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor it’s not on Instagram, but in her mother’s new children’s book Meghan Markle. The little girl, in fact, appears in one of the illustrations, made by the Californian artist Christian Robinson, of The Bench, the new volume that the Duchess of Sussex wrote to replenish the family coffers after the farewell to the royal family. In the image we see Lili in Meghan’s arms, portrayed with a hat on her head, a white T-shirt and jeans as she wanders around a vegetable garden.

Last month Markle announced that the book – available for presale on Amazon – was inspired by a poem she wrote for her husband, Prince Harry, for Father’s Day 2019, the month after the birth of Archie, their firstborn.

In the press description Meghan, who gave birth to baby Lilibet on June 4, stated that the book will explore the “Special bond between father and son” through “the eyes of a mother”, choosing to dedicate the work to Harry and Archie: “For the man and the boy who make my heart beat faster” we read, in fact, at the beginning of the book. In fact, The Bench also presents an illustration portraying Harry and Archie, recognizable thanks to their red hair, sitting on a bench while feeding the chickens – former protagonists of the television interview with Oprah Winfrey – in their villa in Montecito, California. Meghan gave several copies of her latest literary effort, published by Random House Children’s Books, to her Hollywood friends, including photographer Gray Malin and her pilates instructor Heather Dorak.

The first illustration in the book sees Harry and Archie walking hand in hand, while further on we also come across a red-haired soldier lifting his son as a woman watches them, crying, from a window (a clear reference to Harry having served in Afghanistan). The book, however, does not spare other paintings, such as the one that sees the father watching over the child who sleeps in the cot. Markle also recorded the audiobook, which is priced at $ 6.95. In a statement he said: “The Bench it started out as a poem I wrote for my husband on Father’s Day, the month after Archie was born. That poem became this story. Christian has drawn beautiful and ethereal watercolor illustrations that capture the warmth, joy and comfort of the relationship between fathers and children from all walks of life; this representation was particularly important to me. Christian and I worked closely to represent this special bond through an inclusive lens ». Although the news has not been confirmed, it seems that Meghan, to publish the book, received an antique of about 700 thousand dollars.
