The president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (Progressistas), said on Twitter that the president of Petrobras, José Mauro Ferreira Coelho, must “resign immediately”. This Friday (17), the state-owned company announced an adjustment in the price of gasoline, of 5.18%, and of diesel, of 14.26%.
According to Lira, José Mauro Ferreira Coelho does not represent Brazil and works against the population.
“The president of Petrobras has to resign immediately. Not because of my personal will, but because he does not represent the majority shareholder of the company – Brazil – and, worse, works systematically against the Brazilian people in the worst crisis in the country.”
On Wednesday, shortly after Petrobras announced that it would make the adjustment, Lira said that the company operates “as an independent country”. The president of the Chamber promised to discuss in the House a review of the company’s pricing policy.
On Twitter, Lira accused Ferreira Coelho of “corporate terrorism”.
“He only represents himself and what he does will leave a legacy of destruction for the company, the country and the people. Get out!!! Because its management is an act of corporate terrorism.”
