Liter of gasoline rises 0.97% at pumps in the country in January until the 27th, says research

The average price of a liter of gasoline increased 0.97% across the country in January up to the 27th, to R$5.32, compared to December of last year, shows the most recent survey of the Ticket Log Price Index ( IPTL). The period calculated goes from January 1st to January 27th.

“We must pay attention to the reflections of the last increase of 7.47% for gasoline sold to refineries, valid since January 25, which should reflect even more on the price of the liter and make it more expensive”, highlighted the general director of Edenred Brasil Mobility, Douglas Pina.

Ethanol closed the period at R$4.38, an increase of 1.56% on the same basis of comparison. According to the IPTL, despite being cheaper, the increase in ethanol has been more expressive than that of gasoline.

“We are in the off-season period for this fuel, which reduces the supply of the product on the market and raises prices at the plants, as well as at the pumps. Between February and March, the supply of the product should increase in the market and reflect in the reduction in the price of the liter”, reiterates Pina.

Regional

All regions showed an increase in the price of gasoline, however, the most expressive was registered in the Northeastern stations, of 1.27%, where the input went from R$ 5.28 to 5.34. The lowest average price per liter was identified at pumps in the Southeast, at R$ 5.14. The North region maintains the leadership of the most expensive average price for gasoline, sold at R$ 5.51, with an increase of 1.14%.

In ethanol, the South took over this month the post that was from the North region in December. It sold the fuel at the highest average price in the whole country (R$ 4.60), an increase of 1.39%. Even so, the highest rise was seen in pumps in the Northeast, 4.68%. Only the North region recorded a decline in the price of the input, but the cheapest average price was sold in the Midwest, at R$ 4.02.

States

In the analysis by States and the Federal District, Roraima continues in first place in the ranking of the most expensive gasoline in the country, sold at R$ 6.03. The most expressive increase was with Ceará, 7.02%, sold at R$ 5.74 this month.

The lowest average was registered in Paraíba, R$ 4.93, and the biggest reduction, in Rio Grande do Norte, of 1.73%, which changed from R$ 5.33 to R$ 5.24.

As for ethanol sold in the States, the highlight was Bahia, 11.71% more expensive, from R$ 4.13 to R$ 4.61. The highest average was identified in Roraima, at R$ 5.15. Rondônia registered the most important reduction for ethanol, of 2.10%, with a liter sold at R$ 4.47.

As a result of the frequent increases in ethanol, in January, the fuel was the most economical option for only Mato Grosso, which registered the lowest average in the country for a liter, of R$ 3.85.
