The presidents of Lithuania and Poland will travel to Kiev today to meet with their Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, according to the Lithuanian news network.
Lithuanian Presidents Gitana Nauseda and Poland’s Andrei Duda are heading to Ukraine to express their support and solidarity with the country amid threats of a new war with Russia, Nauseda’s spokesman told the B news network.
The President of Estonia Alar Karis already went to Kiev yesterday, Tuesday.
“We remain united with Ukraine, we will not put it on its feet, we will continue to support you in every possible way,” he said after talks with Zelensky.
Karis praised the will of the political leadership in Kiev for the peaceful resolution of the conflict despite the “constant challenges”.
“The current situation poses a clear threat to Europe’s security,” Karis said, referring to a “crucial moment in European history”.
The Estonian leader stressed that the European Union and NATO should keep their doors open in Ukraine, whose current leadership is fighting for membership in both – a position that has angered Moscow.
Karis also called on Russia to withdraw its troops “immediately and unconditionally” from Ukrainian territory and its immediate environs.
