Lithuanian Foreign Minister: It is inevitable to start talking about sanctions in the energy sector

There are similarities between “Putinism” and “Nazism”, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Garbrilius Landsbergis said as he approached the Council of Foreign Ministers in Brussels.

He stressed that “Europe should not give the impression of fatigue when the war in Ukraine is not over.”

“We must not tire of imposing sanctions, we must not tire of providing assistance to Ukraine,” he said, adding that “Ukraine’s request to start the EU candidate process must be taken very seriously.” .

Asked about new sanctions and what they could include, he said: “It is inevitable that we start talking about the energy sector. Of course, we can talk about oil.”
