Lizzo is the target of “South Park” episode about obesity medication

The singer Lizzo spoke out after the animation “South Park” talked about her. In a recent episode, the animated program made references to the singer during a skit about the increase in consumption of weight loss medications, such as Ozempic It is Mounjaro .

The voice of “About Damn Time” published on his Instagram and TikTok profile his live reaction to watching the episode, which was called “South Park: The End of Obesity” (“South Park: The End of Obesity”) .

In one scene, the characters Sharon and Sheila talk about the “amazing” new medications Sharon has been taking to reduce her weight. But since her health plan only covers medications for people with diabetes, Sharon reveals “a new anti-obesity drug for those who can't afford Ozempic or Mounjaro.”

Lizzo then appears shocked in the video when Sharon reveals a new medicine named after the singer. The animation then shows a commercial for “Lizzo”, a medicine “that makes you feel good about your weight and costs 90% less than Ozempic”. “In case studies, 70% of patients using Lizzo don’t care about their weight,” said the narrator of the fake commercial.

“Lizzo helps you eat whatever you want and keep physical activity to a minimum… understand the power of not caring about things, with Lizzo”, he continues.

In her video, Lizzo said, “This is crazy. I feel like… wow, I really am that b*tch.”

“I really showed the world how to love yourself and not care about others, to the point that these men in Colorado know who I am and put me in their cartoon that has been around for 25 years,” said the singer, speaking about the “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The animation's creators met at the University of Boulder in Colorado and use the United States state to set the cartoon's setting.

One of the points defended by Lizzo in her career is self-love and how much hate she receives on social media because of her body.

However, three of her former dancers took legal action against Lizzo in August last year, alleging they were subjected to a hostile work environment and harassment while working with the singer. In the lawsuit, one of the dancers alleges that she was asked about her weight gain.

In a statement at the time, Lizzo denied the allegations and said she was not “the villain people said she was.” “As an artist, I have always been passionate about what I do. I take my music and my performances seriously because, at the end of the day, I just want to deliver the best art that represents me and my fans,” the singer wrote.
