A religious order from Rio Grande do Sul announced the construction of a sanctuary that will feature the image of Lucifer in the city of Gravataí, about 30 kilometers from the capital Porto Alegre. The space that will be inaugurated this Tuesday (13) will not have its location disclosed.
One of the founders of the sanctuary, Tatá Hélio de Astaroth, explains that the place where the 5-meter-high statue will be displayed will be preserved, because according to him, “although we live in a secular country, there are people who, blinded by faith, may try to vandalize or attack members. For security reasons, the event will remain confidential.”
According to the founder, the inauguration of the image will feature a ceremony called the “Ceremony of the Keys”, and on that day guests will receive a “kind of amulet that will connect them with their sacredness”.
The case gained great repercussion in the media, however, when questioned, the city hall emphasized that there is no link or public resource from the agency that is linked to the project.
When contacting the City of Gravataí, the agency highlighted CNN that the municipal administration had no knowledge until now about the creation of a sanctuary dedicated to Lucifer in the city.
