Loch Ness Monster: The largest search for its discovery in half a century has begun

Today began the largest investigation of the last decades for the so-called “Loch Ness monster,” also known as “Nessie,” according to the BBC.

Drones equipped with infrared cameras hover over the lake and a hydrophone will be used to detect unusual underwater sounds.

The investigation will be completed as scheduled tomorrow. The Loch Ness Center in Drumnadrochit and a volunteer research group called Loch Ness Exploration are organizing the effort.

It is said to be the biggest search for the monster since the Loch Ness Research Bureau studied the lake in 1972.

Nearly 300 people have registered to watch the weekend’s investigation live.

Paul Nixon, chief executive of the Loch Ness Centre, said: “The animal is one of the largest and most dangerous creatures in existence. We are the custodians of this unique history and, in addition to investing in creating an unforgettable experience for visitors, we are committed to contributing to continuing research and uncovering the mysteries that lie beneath the waters of the famous lake».

The weekend offers an opportunity to scour the waters like never before and we can’t wait to see what we find“, write down.
