LOL 2: who won and what the final left us

The article contains spoilers on the fifth and sixth installments of LOL 2 – Who laughs is out

Someone said it’s not as funny as the first one, someone else said that the formula is squeaky and that the surprise effect has now faded. For us, the second season of LOL – Who laughs is out has managed, instead, not only to give a healthy diversion from the terrible news that has underpinned the news since Russia invaded Ukraine, but also to illuminate the talent of several champions who have chosen to get involved to give life to a social experiment that reveals much of a profession, that of the artist, which not everyone seems to fully understand. Arousing laughter in a colleague is not a walk: in between there are the background, the resistance, but also the desire not to disfigure and, why not, not to give satisfaction to another member of the category who could be more or less brilliant than those who resist. Along with this human and professional nuance, LOL 2 he also succeeds in demonstrating how much improvisation, for those who work as a comedian, is precious and fundamentalbecause the pieces prepared and tested dozens of times agree, but the thrill of discovering what an artist can invent extemporaneously in order to stay in the game has a completely different flavor.

Virginia Raffaele and Corrado Guzzanti

In the fifth and sixth installments of LOLwhich had the misfortune to debut on Prime Video on the same day as the first Russian attack in Ukraine, the comedians try to resist by using their weapons to bring down their opponents. Some comedic gimmicks are stronger than others and particularly captivate audiences. The incorrect comedy of Magician Forrestwhich rests on both mimicry and dialectical art, is, for example, a priceless pearl as well as the guttural sounds and the modulation of the voice of which Virginia Raffaele and Maccio Capatonda – who juggled a hilarious number about unlikely movie trailers like the ones he was pitching at Never say Golfrom The Fever to The man who went out people – they are undisputed champions. The artistic apparatus of Tess Masazza, which focuses entirely on disguise, and of Diana Del Bufalo who, in fact, are eliminated almost immediately together with Gianmarco Pozzoli, victim of his own gimmick – that of shaving a part of the skull – is weaker. had happened at the first edition of LOL to Angelo Pintus.

Maccio Capatonda to LOL 2

Federico Guberti

The king of the titans, Corrado Guzzantiinstead, comes out of LOL head held high while dragging behind the criticisms of those who explained on social media that seeing a big hit like him in the midst of that crawl space was symptomatic of an artistic sunset with no way out. It is as if we really could not understand that the greatness of an artist is not to rise above the others by sealing himself inside a glass bell.but get involved, juggle, try something new just to have fun (as well as to perceive a cachet, and God forbid). It remains that, at the end of the games, after the fall of the great Maria Di Biase and Max Angioni, only two comedians resist: Virginia Raffaele and Maccio Capatonda, very good at showing off their repertoire of imitation and improvisation until the end, when, at the invitation of Fedez and Frank Matano, Corrado Guzzanti returns and Virginia collapses. To win the second edition of LOL it is, in fact, Maccio Capatonda, superfine talent, master of stolidity who in the Prime Video program has managed to bring his figure by extending it to new nuances, taking the experience of the program as a gym to perfect ourselves and make us understand its value. And, even for this alone, a LOL we should just say thank you.
