New York Fashion Week where the Autumn-Winter 2024/2025 collections were presented left us with hair & make-up trends to copy. And the news is that elaborate hairstyles and bold makeup are back

Simone Rocha, the revisitation of the Victorian style

Queen Victoria in mourning, with a Goth and dark style, inspired the beauty look with uncompromising details at the fashion show Simone Rocha. The make-up created by Thomas de Kluyver the catalyst was eyebrows decorated with stencils in the shape of mini flowers and leaves, in blue and red, on a minimal make-up look.

Hair side of the hairstylist Eugene Souleiman from Victorian women she took the very flat and austere hairstyle, with a parting in the middle and ribbons falling on the sides of the face. In this case her attention is entirely focused on her hair, so much so that her eyebrows are totally cancelled.

Erdem, the bold eyeliner that pays homage to Maria Callas

The A/W collection designed by is inspired by Maria Callas Tabitha Simmons for Erdem staged at the British Museum and, obviously, on the beauty look front there was no shortage of references to the soprano, whose centenary of her birth was celebrated in 2023.

A decisive stretch of eyelinerjust like the diva used, traced both in the lower and upper part of the eye was the key point of the make-up; inevitable, the final comma. Designed by make-up artist Amy Conway with Bobbi Brown products, the make-up enhanced the eyes to the maximum, leaving the rest of the face naked, after (obviously) expert skincare with 111Skin products. Hair gathered in a maxi chignon: Adam Garland was in charge of the hair for Authentic Beauty Concept.

Huishan Zhang's version: deconstructed eyeliner

The eyeliner wins hands down too Huishan Zhang, combined with smokey eyes. The vision of make-up artist Jo Frost, however, is decidedly unstructured compared to that seen by Erdem, in perfect harmony with the mood of the show, which tells of a woman who advances through storms, internal and otherwise. A furious and romantic warrior, who bears the marks of what she has experienced and seen. The make-up highlights melancholy, the absolute protagonist on a white and matte complexion, uniformed only by powder. On her lips, a touch of foundation, like in the early 2000s.

London Fashion Week: red and purple on the lips

Not just eyes, London Fashion Week reiterated (if ever it were needed) the return of Red lipstick, absolute protagonist of more impactful full color lips. We have seen this, for example, from Aadnevik, Helen Anthony, Sinead Goreye, who bets everything on fuchsia and raspberry. Glossy texture, irresistible even for the hot season: take note.

The red lipstick also conquers Molly Goddard and Roksanda. A timeless must, in short, which knows no crises or seasons.

Among the beauty looks proposed by Roksanda, this one also features red lips as the absolute protagonists on nude skin.

Pixie and bowl cut: the revenge of the short

London Fashion Week did not reserve any particular surprises on the hairstyle front, but to make the classic long-medium diatribe less monotonous, (fortunately) short and very short ones intervened, like the pixie and bowl cuts spotted by KNWLS.

The choice gives an even more urban touch to the eyes shimmer, one of the few hints of color on the eyelids in these London days.

The short garçonne style seen by is sophisticated and extremely feminine Conner Ives, combined with bronze eyeshadow and transparent glossy lips. The skin is left natural: in cases like this, skincare is the absolute protagonist.

In the case of medium and long hair, however, on the same catwalk we saw the return of a great classic: the sixties style band. Even the traditionally more fashion week unconventional sometimes he digs into the memory of days gone by; the game of fashion, ultimately, is also knowing how to capture the best of what has been and knowing how to make it contemporary.
