London says 616 migrants crossed the Channel on Sunday

The British authorities detected 616 migrants yesterday Sunday trying to cross the English Channel in small boats, the British government announced today. This is the highest number recorded in one day since the beginning of the year.

The Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has made stemming migrant boat arrivals one of its top five priorities after the number of migrants arriving on its south coast rose to a record level – more than 45,000 – in 2022 England. This number increased by 500% in the last two years, as reported by the Athenian-Macedonian News Agency.

THE Sunak has been criticized by some in his own Conservative Party and by citizens for not acting immediately enough to crack down on illegal immigration, but last week he said his plan was progressing and arrivals into the country were down by 20% in compared to last year.
