London: Two police officers prosecuted for taking selfies next to corpses in murder scene

Two members of the London police accused of committing a serious misconduct in the line of duty, as they took a selfie at the scene of a double murder and then shared the photos, the British prosecutor’s office announced today (28/4).

Officers Denise Jaffer, 47, and Jamie Lewis, 32, will appear in Westminster court on May 27, the prosecutor’s office said in a press release, according to APE-MPE.

“The professional error they allegedly committed concerns the investigation into the deaths of Biba Henry, 46, and Nicole Smallman, 27, of two brothers who were stabbed in a Wembley (north-west London) park on June 6, 2020.” , he added.

The two police officers have been made available since last June, mafter their arrest.

According to British media, the accused took a selfie next to the corpses and then posted the photos on WhatsApp. The victims’ mother, Mina Smallman, told the BBC last June that she had treated her daughters inhumanely.

An 18-year-old man, Daniel Hussein, has been charged with murder in connection with the case and is expected to stand trial in June.
