Tesla China has announced the opening of the longest route with Superchargers along the historic Silk Road. This route, with a length of about 5,000 km, received 27 charging stations.

The company made the announcement via a video posted on its Twitter page. Tesla was focused on ensuring that owners of its electric vehicles can visit the most interesting places on the Great Silk Road. This route runs from Zhoushan to Khorgos, which are located respectively in the eastern and western parts of the country.

In 2013, President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping launched the Belt and Road Initiative, now commonly known as the New Silk Road. Under this initiative, China is building new railways, ports, highways and other infrastructure that will connect the East with the West. At least 100 countries are participating in the project.
