We needed a charismatic, charming and truly loved Oscar winner by everyone like Kate Winslet to divert attention from a breathtaking spectacle such as the silhouette of the Eiffel Tower in the changing light of the sunset. That’s how it was.
The extraordinary actress – in addition to all the qualities that we universally know, we can add the sympathy and affability, which we have seen with our eyes on this occasion – is gliding in the Ville Lumière to act as godmother at the launch of the brand new line Turtleneck x YVY, last born in the house Longines.
And it could not be otherwise, considering the ten-year close bond that binds the star of TitanicAmbassador of Elegance of the brand, and the Swiss watchmaking Maison, which has chosen Paris – and the opportunity to Longines Paris Eiffel Jumpingstage of Champ de Mars del Global Champions Tour – to reveal the new identity of the famous timepieces with rectangular shapes, unique and even more captivating thanks to the sophisticated leather straps designed by the Swiss creative Yvonne Reichmuth, founder of YVY, which refer directly to the world of horse harness, and therefore to equestrian competitions to which the brand is – in fact – so deeply linked.
The new born of the winged hourglass brand are characterized by refined and original double straps in leather, available in three shades and with a strong character, which connote them as real accessories capable of giving a special twist to every look. Two dimensions of the case, on the other hand, make this precious object desirable both for him and for her (but we know well how much, at this moment, small watches are appreciated by the male public and the larger ones by female customers).
“We wanted to jointly develop a new approach to the world of horses and their harnesses,” says Yvonne Reichmuth, who adds: “The idea of the modularity of the strap was born to create a watch to be worn with style on different occasions”.
The presentation of the new collection was followed by a star-studded dinner in honor of Winslet and the other guests of the brand. A sort of official cut of the starting ribbon of the Jumping competitions that took place at the foot of the Iron Lady in the following days. But above all a magical moment: between Kate, the new watches and the Eiffel Tower, it was really difficult to choose where to look. Even the eyes jumped here and there, just like a thoroughbred.
