Anitta competes this Sunday night (5) for the revelation in music award at the ceremony of the 65th edition of the Grammy Awards, the main award in the music industry, which will be broadcast from 10 pm [horário de Brasília], in Los Angeles, in the United States. Before the artist from Rio de Janeiro left for the red carpet of the awards, she shared her look for the special night.
“After 50 years, Brazil is at the Grammys”, said the actress in the post when referring to the category in which she competes, one of the main ones of the night that can be watched on HBO Max.
The singer Anita is the only Brazilian nominated as an artist. She competes in the Revelation category. In fact, it has been 58 years since no Brazilian artist has been nominated in the category. The last ones were nominated in the same year, in 1965, and were maestro Tom Jobim and Astrud Gilberto.
It is the 22nd Brazilian nomination for the greatest music award. This year, another Brazilian is also on the list of nominees, but for her album. Jazz singer Flora Purim, from Rio de Janeiro, as well as Anitta, is competing in the best jazz album category with “Se Você Quiser”.
The last time a Brazilian artist won a Grammy was in 2017, with Eliane Elias in the Best Latin Jazz Album category, with “Dance of Time”.
