In the first round at Roland Garros faces the finalist of Rome, Stefanos Tsitsipasnumber four in the world, (not before 8:45 pm) but the challenges are certainly not scary Lorenzo Musetti, rising star of Italian tennis, able to win the decisive match in the Davis Cup with Italy against Slovakia away. The twenty-year-old from Carrara is part of the #CarattereVincente project with which Parmacotto Group wants to promote a balanced lifestyle. «I always try to have a healthy diet even if I travel a lot, meeting different cultures and foods. You don’t always eat what you want “.
What does Lorenzo Musetti like to eat?
«Everything my grandmother cooks: gnocchi, lasagna, savory crepes. I am a lover of pasta and also of pizza. I eat fish. I have come to appreciate it. Except the anchovies that I can’t swallow. The exception to the rule, with burgers and fries, is done when you win a tournament, when you tear a pass or in a rest period. I try to stick to the rules a lot during tournaments ».
Favorite tournament?
“Rome, the Foro Italico (which this year had to miss due to injury ed)”.
The tournament you dream of winning?
“Wimbledon, on grass, but if it were Roland Garros on clay, that’s okay.”
And the Davis Cup?
«The call was the confirmation of the first one I had in Turin. Slovakia turned out to be more difficult than expected. From a reserve I became the one who saved the team. We are a united group and everyone was convinced to let me take the field. In tennis it is the only team competition and playing with Italy written behind the back makes the shirt very heavy ».
Who is the most fearsome of the opponents encountered?
«Djokovic, tennis phenomenon and legend. I’ve never met Nadal. Among the young people Jannik (Sinner ed) and Alcaraz ».
What would he take from them? One shot each.
«All three play differently to each other and to me, for example I play the one-handed backhand. I would take Nole’s response and the physicality that has made him win so many tournaments. Jannik has an impressive mental strength, tenacity and continuity in matches as well as in training. Carlos is a war machine: he is strong technically, physically and mentally ».
Is there a break in the life of a tennis player? How do you occupy it?
«We arrived in Marrakech early and visited the city, but it has rarely happened that we can give it in the last two years due to Covid. We went to Miami Beach, when we can we shoot ».
Movies and music?
«They are daily bread. Now I am also going to university because I have decided to enroll in physical education. I hope to be able to reconcile this extra commitment even without frequency. I have chosen a faculty that can be useful for an athlete, to get to know my body better too. The priority is tennis, but I like to keep my mind trained with other things as well. It is also used for sports. The period of maturity is the one in which, paradoxically, I played better ».
The adjective to describe Lorenzo Musetti?
“Not fanciful, which seems too much to me. I would say unpredictable that it can be positive, but also negative, it depends on the situations ».
