Love in the days of Zoom! Couple getting married via video call and have never seen each other in person before

Love knows no social class, age or distance. To prove it, there are Ayse and Darrin, a couple who met through the magic of social networks and ended up getting married in a video call.

Their relationship is a modern love story in which Facebook was their cupid, but unlike other couples who have romances for miles, they have never seen or lived together in person. However, they have already vowed eternal love to be together until they are blocked or a failure in the internet network separates them.

Ayse and Darrin met during the pandemic through Parejas, a Facebook function that provides a service similar to Tinder or others apps dating. Their conversation began without much interest, but over time, they formed a beautiful friendship that united them in a long-distance romance, since Darrin lives in Detroit, United States, and Ayse is originally from the United Kingdom.

Living in different countries, they have had to deal with the time difference, which is five hours. While it doesn’t seem like a long time, this has caused some problems in their communication, as they also have to adhere to a work and study schedule.

Their relationship grew so strong that Ayse saved enough money to travel to the United States and meet Darrin, but COVID-19 restrictions caused her flight to be canceled twice.

Although they could not travel to meet, they chatted on WhatsApp, made video calls and even sent gifts by parcel. Their relationship became so intense that Darrin proposed to Ayse, and although he did it by video call, he gave himself the task of looking for a beautiful engagement ring and knelt like a gentleman to make the request.

She accepted the proposal, but then doubted that it was all true. However, Darrin explained that in Utah, United States, marriage via video call is completely legal. This means that their marriage would be totally valid for the law, making them spouses officially.

Their wedding was simple, their family and friends accompanied them on a video call and although there was no clash of glasses, their love is so pure and sincere that nothing and no one can separate them.

I never imagined this would happen to me in a million years. I don’t think anyone expected this when we started talking last year. But we are married and everything is completely legal and official, I still can’t believe it. It has been very difficult not being able to get together properly, but in the long run it will make us stronger because we have had to go through all this to be together.

What began as a simple conversation ended up guiding them towards their better half. Although they have not yet seen each other in person, their relationship is already firm and it can do everything. Now we can only wish them that soon they can hug each other and have the kiss that their relationship so deserves.
