Prime Video released this Monday (9), the first trailer for “Amar é Para os Fortes”, a series created by singer Marcelo D2, in partnership with Antonia Pellegrino and Camila Agustini.
The premiere is scheduled for November 17th on the streaming platform. “Where only love is what matters, the series #AmarÉParaOsFortes comes to talk about loyalty, art and overcoming. The story of two families who cross the line of fire arrives on November 17th”, wrote the artist on his official Instagram account.
In the plot, the destinies of two black women from Rio intersect during a police operation on Mother’s Day. What should have been a day of celebration quickly becomes a terrible nightmare for Rita (played by Tatiana Tiburcio, known for her role in “Land and Paixão”), when her 11-year-old son, Sushi (played by João Tiburcio), is sadly killed by Digão (played by Maicon Rodrigues, famous for his work in “Sem Filtro”), a police officer who is, by chance, the son of Edna (played by Mariana Nunes, recognized for her performance in “Todas as Flores”) .
In their search for justice, the two women will have to confront police corruption and the deficiencies of the judicial system. Meanwhile, Rita’s eldest son, the artist Sinistro (played by Breno Ferreira, from “Manhãs de Setembro”), mobilizes the Maré community to seek justice for his brother’s death.
“Love is for the Strong” is a series directed by Kátia Lund (City of God), Yasmin Thayná (Rule 34) and Daniel Lieff (1 Against All). The cast of the series also includes Rui Ricardo Diaz (Impuros), Bukassa Kabengele (Amor Perfeito), Vilma Melo (Encantado’s), Clara Moneke (Vai na Fé), Liza Del Dala (Bom Dia, Verônica), José Araújo (De Onde the Birds See the City) and others.
