Luca Guadagnino’s film with Daniel Craig, “Queer” gets a clip; watch

A scene from “Queer” new film by Luca Guadagnino (“Call Me By Your Name” and “Rivals”), was shown at the Venice Film Festival, which began on August 28 and runs until Saturday (7).

In the clip, the character of Daniel Craig enters a bar, drinks a shot and observes the place. He tries to make contact with a man, played by Drew Starkey sitting at the table, but is ignored. Watch below.

The production is based on the book of the same name by William S. Burroughs published in 1985, which is set in Mexico City in the 1950s and tells the story of William Lee, the writer’s alter ego.

In the plot, An American expat falls in love with a discharged Navy SEAL who, although indifferent to his advances, eventually gives in – but only enough to make his sexual desires become even more of an obsession.

In addition to Craig and Starkey, names like Omar Apollo (singer), Lesley Manville (“The Crown“), Jason Schwartzman (“Marie Antoinette“) and the Brazilian Henry Zaga (“After the Universe”) make up the cast.

“Queer” There is still no release date set for Brazil. The title was first shown at the Venice Film Festival this Tuesday (3).
