Jacob Tremblay, 14 years old, unforgettable protagonist of Room and then of Good Boys, is the voice of Luca, the most anticipated Disney Pixar movie of the year, on Disney + from June 18th. His is the voice of Luca Scorfano, the sea-monster-boy who abandons the depths of the sea to discover Portorosso, on the Ligurian Riviera, in search of a wasp (and more). To guide him (reckless) his friend Alberto Scorfano (Jack Dylan Grazer, already seen in We Are Who We Are). To complete the team, the human Giulia Marcovaldo (Emma Berman).

«When you meet him at the beginning of the film, Luca is a curious but shy boy. Then he happens to meet Alberto who helps him to get out of his comfort zone “, says Jacob,”For him it is an inspiration. It teaches him to get rid of the voice in his head, the one that always tends to discourage you“. At that voice, Luca and Alberto reply with “Silence, Bruno!“. Alberto is the impulsive one: «When there are two ways in which things could go, the terrible one and the wonderful one. I always hope it’s a wonderful thing, ”Jack explains. For Emma Berman, Luca it is his film, that is “the most exciting thing ever”.

Directed from Italian Enrico Casarosa, a tribute to Italy and friendship without distinction and discrimination, saw the voice actors working from home in the middle of the Covid emergency. “I remember Jack in his mother’s closet, with the sound of his arms banging against his hangers,” says producer Andrea Warren. «Yes I have been in my mother’s closet for a year, ”Jack continues,“ It was definitely a challenge as an actor, but also just as a human being. It was hot in there. And I bet the neighbors were really crazy about the amount of screams coming from my house. ‘

The features in common: «I see myself in Luca in many things», reveals Jacob, «I refer to his desire to go out and explore, especially at this time. Because of Covid I feel that we can all really identify with him who wants to go out and drive a wasp through Italy ».

Luke’s lesson: “I honestly think the message in this film is to be comfortable in your own skin and not play anyone else’s part, just be at peace with the real you. We must not hide or be ashamed of who we are. And then it is important find the right friend which can help you understand all this “. Tremblay explains, “Silence Bruno!” he’ll take it with him: “It’s a good way to silence your anxiety about certain things, and I really hope this will help me in the future. ‘
