Luciano Szafir is hospitalized in Campinas with intestinal subocclusion

Actor Luciano Szafir was hospitalized on Friday (17) in Campinas (SP), after presenting with intestinal obstruction after a recent surgery.

“Luciano is still recovering from the complex surgery he had and presented on Friday afternoon a condition of intestinal subocclusion”, said doctor André Brandalise, responsible for monitoring the actor Vera Cruz hospital, in the interior of São Paulo.

According to the doctor, the actor is doing well, but is still not expected to be discharged.

“He had to be hospitalized to fast and rest his intestines so he can work properly again,” he said.

Luciano Szafir, 53, faced complications from Covid-19 last year and was hospitalized for 35 days in Rio de Janeiro. During hospitalization, the actor had complications and had to undergo surgery on the abdomen to remove a hematoma and a segment of the colon, one of the parts of the large intestine.

After being discharged on the occasion, he paraded at São Paulo Fashion Week (SPFW), in November 2021, wearing an ostomy bag, also known as a colostomy bag.
