Ludmilla says that Lud Session was born after the record company’s ban: “In the fridge”

Ludmilla told how her project “Lud Session” was born in which she invites other artists to re-record some songs together, and said she came up with the idea after having been put “on ice” by her former record company Warner Music.

“The story of Lud Session is very unusual. Lud Session came out like a refuge for me. Some things happened within my record company that made it kind of impossible for me to release songs, they stopped me, like a refrigerator”, said the singer in an interview on TVZ with Preta Gil, from the Multishow channel.

“And I said: baby, I’m not going to stay in the fridge. What I can’t do is release a song without telling them, but the ones I’ve already released I can re-record”, he recalled.

The artist ended her contract with Warner Music Brasil at the end of 2023, after 10 years with the label.

Ludmilla also spoke about how the market is often cruel to artists who are just starting out and said that today she is living “the best phase” of her career and life.

“I come from a crop of several artists and if you look around there are a lot of people who ended up being left behind, who couldn’t maintain themselves, because the market really is very cruel. Being able to remain stable for all these years, relevant, influential… Because, hey, through my projects I see that a lot of people are being inspired by my career”, she said.
