Sunny, but also temperamental and a little melancholic. Three characteristics that today it seems to me
are in good balance. And I would like to see well, after 20 years of analysis!». Luisa Ranieri with a contagious laugh thus defines herself on the threshold of 49 years, the last nine of which, sweetly complicated, lived as her most beautiful age. Very satisfied with her latest effort, the children’s cartoon food wizards, just released on Rai Yoyo and dedicated to healthy food, he reflects on how he now pays much more attention to skin care, as if it had become a conscious need to feel better.
Emotions affect the skin. It is important to treat it well and know how to read it. Has she always done this?
«In the past, not so much because I had the great fortune of not loving the sun, much less tanned skin. So I’ve always used a thousand filters and involuntarily made myself good. In recent times, however, I have the clear perception that it should be protected. I feel I have to. Trying to keep nutrition and stress under control: because we are what we eat and what we feel. As a young man you want to please others more, but today I select what I really like. And if I’m serene, I realize I produce fewer free radicals. I don’t have many wrinkles yet, but there is a certain tendency due to dry skin. However I think that at a certain point we have to accept getting old. Just do it with dignity.”
What do you think of the support of aesthetic medicine?
«I think it should be used with grace, kindness and self-love, bearing in mind that you always have to recognize yourself. A face is made up of what you carry inside you, of who you are. It’s the inside that comes out. Skin discomfort is never the fault of the skin alone, because it’s just a wrapper that mirrors what you feel. You have to do the right things, like eating well, no matter what.”
So she eats properly?
«I’m a good fork, but in recent years, and exactly since 2014 when I had a magical encounter with Dr. Sara Farnetti and with whom I produced the cartoon for children, I’ve understood many things. As a good Southern woman, I didn’t realize that love passes through food, but only if it is functional to the body. Every food triggers a chemical reaction, so I started associating them with certain ailments I had. Avoiding them changed my skin. I already had a sustainable approach, but Sara enlightened me. And this has also affected my beauty choices. I have tried to do everything that has a link with “I do myself good”».
Does the diet also combine a little movement?
«Before I trained a lot, I had a personal trainer, but, being a volcanic who gets tired of everything because in reality I’m a chronic lazy person, I like to change. Now
I do yoga, barret, gyrotonic. Focus on flexibility, but calmly».
Do you follow a particular cosmetic routine?
«Yes, and also very long: I wash my face with a foam specialty, then micellar water, rinse again and then apply serum, eye contour and cream. I’m “sick”, always have been. My mother called me “the mother-in-law”. I can’t go to bed if I don’t feel clean.”
Are you able to accept criticism?
«Emotionally they hit and hurt, I’d be a hypocrite if I said no. Especially the wild and gratuitous ones. Do you know what I do then? I distance myself and block those who hate me: if you don’t love me, don’t follow me. I have my respectful audience, I don’t agree to keep up with the vulgarity of our times”.
