Luísa Sonza explained why she didn’t take the stage at the WME Music Awards 2023 on Thursday night (14) to receive the award for “Chico”. The song, released this year, was the winner in the “Mainstream Music” category.
After being announced by Titi Müller and Marimoon, Luísa Sonza did not go on stage to receive the award, leaving the presenters alone. In a comment made on an Instagram post from the profile I shocked, the singer explained that she was unable to arrive in time.
“I was in the dressing room at the time, I didn’t hear it, I ran to get it, but there wasn’t time, that’s all,” she wrote.
Luísa Sonza took the opportunity to make it clear that she loves the song and that winning an award for it was not a problem. “I love this song, for me it’s one of the best I’ve ever done, it’s my favorite, I was very happy with the award”, she added.
The singer was present at the WME Music Awards and opened the event with a tribute performance to Rita Lee.
“Chico” is a song by Luísa written for her ex-boyfriend, Chico Moedas. The relationship came to a troubled end in September 2023, when the star exposed betrayal by her ex-partner on national television.
