Switzerland does not know about any “mining” on board the Ryanair plane forcibly landed in Minsk, and did not warn the Belarusian authorities about such a threat. This was reported by the press service of the Swiss Foreign Ministry.
The dictator of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, speaking at the parliament of the country today, said that the message about a certain mining of the plane “came from Switzerland.”
The EU government denied his words.
“The Swiss authorities had no idea about any threat of a bomb explosion on the Ryanair Athens-Vilnius flight. Accordingly, Switzerland did not provide any report to the Belarusian authorities,” the country’s Foreign Ministry said.
- On May 23, 2021, Lukashenko’s regime tricked Ryanair into landing in Minsk. The secret services removed the co-founder of the opposition Telegram channel NEXTA Roman Protasevich from the plane.
- The 27 leaders of the EU countries agreed on new sanctions against Belarus, called on the bloc’s airlines to avoid the country’s “air”, banned Belavia from flying to the EU and demanded that the detainees be released immediately.
- Lukashenka continues to deny everything and are convinced that the actions of the authorities allegedly “fully complied with the established international rules.”
- Since May 26, Ukraine has stopped air traffic with Belarus.
