The financial market had a bad day in reaction to the statement by President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) about the spending cap.
In a speech at the UN Climate Conference, in Egypt, this Thursday (17th), Lula said that it is no use thinking only of fiscal responsibility. According to the PT, the spending ceiling takes money “from health, education and culture”.
Following the declarations, the Ibovespa started to fall and the dollar, on the rise.
