The Russian government said 29 world leaders should attend the day of victory day in World War II in Moscow in the coming days. The information was confirmed by Yuri Ushakov, Kremlin’s foreign policy advisor, on Tuesday (6).
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will be at the event. Chinese leader Xi Jinping must also be present.
Events in celebration of the date will take place between May 8 and 11, with the traditional annual military parade occurring in Red Square, in the heart of the Russian capital, on May 9.
Military units from 13 countries, including China, will participate in the parade, as well as soldiers, military vehicles and Russian weapons systems, said Ushakov.
Several American American veterans of World War II should also attend, according to Kremlin’s advisor, but it is unclear whether any United States authority will go to Russia, although the Vladimir Putin government has sent an invitation to the US ambassador in the country.
Ushakov said North Korea soldiers will not participate in the parade. The North Korean ambassador will represent the country.
North Korea first confirmed in April its soldiers fought for Russia against troops from Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on April 28 a three-day ceasefire to mark the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union victory and his allies about Nazi Germany in World War II.
