Lula says Zelensky “only said the obvious” at the UN

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) stated that Volodymyr Zelensky, president of Ukraine, “only stated the obvious” during a speech at the United Nations (UN).

Zelensky criticized what Lula called the “thesis” for resolving the war in Europe supported by Brazil and China.

“That he has to defend sovereignty, it is his obligation. That he has to be against the occupation of the territory [ucraniano]it is his obligation. What he is not able to do is make peace. And what we are proposing is not to make peace for them, it is to draw their attention so that they take into consideration that only peace will guarantee that Ukraine survives as a sovereign country and that Russia survives”, he highlighted.

Lula then stated that there is no “proposal” from China and Brazil to resolve the conflict, but a “thesis” that dialogue is important.

“He [Zelensky]”If I were smart, I would say that the solution is diplomatic, not military. And that depends on the ability to sit down and talk. Listen to the opposite and try to reach an agreement so that the Ukrainian people can have peace in their lives,” he commented.
