President Lula stated this Monday (1st) that US President Joe Biden will be responsible for assessing whether or not he is able to continue his campaign for re-election to the White House.
In an interview with Princesa FM radio, Lula avoided commenting on the US electoral process, but assessed that American health is a relevant topic for the electoral dispute.
“I particularly like Biden. I think Biden has a problem, you know, he’s walking more slowly, he’s taking longer to respond to things – he’s probably thinking.”
Lula also commented on recent requests for the American president to withdraw from his candidacy, making room for the nomination of another politician during the Democratic Party conference. “Biden is the one who has to evaluate. If he is well, he is a candidate. But if he’s not, they better make a decision. What was annoying and unpleasant is that they exposed Biden’s fragility a lot.”
Finally, Lula also highlighted the importance of the dispute beyond the domestic scenario in the United States. “Elections in the US are very important for the rest of the world, because depending on who wins, we can make the world better or worse. I’m rooting for Biden. God willing he’s in good health and can run.”
