The singer and composer Lulu Santos 71, said that one of his guitars was nicknamed by the presenter Xuxa, 61. The revelation was made during his participation in the program High hours from TV Globo, shown on Saturday night (22).
“This is a 12-string guitar that Xuxa nicknamed ‘Veridiana, Verdona’. And she wrote this with her own hand, years ago”, said Santos, referring to the writing “Veridiana, the Verdona” on the side of the instrument, which is green in color.
Saturday’s Altas Horas paid homage to Santos and brought as guests the artists Ana Gabriela, Gabriel O Pensador, João Gomes, Liniker, Luedji Luna and Toni Garrido.
During the program, which featured several tributes to Santos, Garrido revealed that he considers the singer an idol and that he changed his life following an interview he gave to MTV in the late 1980s.
“There is something very important that changed my life. MTV asked him in an interview: ‘So, what new things have you seen, cool things?’. Then he said: ‘Look, I saw a band that I really liked, a band called Banda Bel [primeiro grupo em que Toni atuou como vocalista], there’s a cool singer’. And my story begins. My entire journey starts with a comment from Lulu,” she says.
“What he taught me my entire life was that if you have something good to say about someone, say it, because it can be impactful and can change their life,” continues Garrido. “I didn’t know about this story. It took me all this time to find out”, declares Santos.
“They’re going to have to put up with me a little longer”, says Xuxa
