Luxury cars compete in a “race” and hit transport app motorcycle courier

A traffic accident left at least two people injured on Monday night (20), in Barueri, in the São Paulo Metropolitan Region.

Municipal guards were called to Alameda Rio Negrol Street to respond to an incident where two luxury vehicles were competing in an alleged “race”. However, one of the vehicles hit the back of a motorcycle carrying a 36-year-old woman.

According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP), the woman was taken to SAMEB Hospital, where she remains hospitalized. In addition to her, the driver of the motorcycle was also injured.

The drivers of the other two vehicles fled without providing assistance to the victims. Subsequently, one of the cars involved was located and seized by the Municipal Civil Guard.

In videos posted on social media, it is possible to see the motorcycle destroyed after the accident, in addition to the moment when aid to the injured is provided at the scene. See below:

The case was registered by the Barueri Police Station as participating in a race on a public road, culpable bodily harm and fleeing the scene of an accident. Forensic examination was requested at the scene and the teams are still investigating the facts to identify the drivers involved in the crime.
