Eastern Crete is visited today, Friday and tomorrow Saturday, by the Deputy Minister of Health, Mina Gaga, who was earlier at the University Hospital of Heraklion, where she had a meeting with the administration of the Foundation, in the presence of the commander of the 7th CRC, Lena Borboudaki.
The Deputy Minister of Health was guided to the Intensive Care Unit, to the new Day Care Unit of the hospital and to the Angiography department, which will host the invasive neuroangiography department.
Ms. Gaga in her statements expressed optimism regarding the course of the pandemic, that we will be able to have a normal Easter, while pointing out that “these days we must be careful” as she added the cases are enough, the imports seem to be a little more this week, ie no decrease is recorded.
“We see this all over the world and in European countries – and it’s important to be careful. We have a good degree of immunization of the whole population, because most people have been vaccinated and some have gotten sick, so most of us are shielded. “Our fellow human beings who have not been vaccinated, who are vulnerable, but also people who have been vaccinated but are older and have problems, who may be in the hospital or even at risk,” Ms Gaga added.
He also noted that the vaccination in Crete went well, adding that “this is important” and because of tourism.
Regarding the recruitment of staff, the Deputy Minister of Health pointed out that more than 100 nurses will arrive at PAGNI, while for the new bill that is – as she said – under preparation, the goal is to strengthen public hospitals.
“It is clear that our will is to have a public health system that citizens trust and that everyone who works in it wants,” said the deputy minister, who also said that “what we are saying is to stimulate public hospitals to have “In them, a private character. We can stimulate hospitals and make them more robust,” Ms Gaga said.
Then the Deputy Minister of Health visited the Venizelio Hospital of Heraklion. In the afternoon he will visit the hospitals in Neapoli and Agios Nikolaos Lassithi, while tomorrow Saturday he will stay in Lassithi, where he will go to the hospitals of Sitia and Ierapetra.
