M. Konsolas: ‘Tax cuts in the 2022 budget’

“In the 2022 budget, not only is there not a single new tax, but the reduction of other taxes and charges is reflected”, said the special rapporteur of ND, Manolis Konsolas, during the discussion of the 2022 budget in the Finance Committee of the Parliament.

The ND MP pointed out:

– The reduction of the tax rate for companies from 24% to 22%, the second reduction made by this government, as it was preceded by the reduction from 28% to 24%.

– The extension of the exemption from the special solidarity contribution for 2022.

– The extension of the validity of the reduced VAT rates in transport, in the tourist package, in coffee, in non-alcoholic beverages until June 2022.

– The reduction of the tax advance for companies from 100% to 80%.

– The extension, for 2022, of the reduction of insurance contributions by 3 points.

– The reduction for 3 years by 30% of the amount resulting from the payment of income tax on profits for the merging companies.

– The deduction from the gross income of small and medium enterprises of the expenses related to the green economy, energy and digital transformation, increased by 100%.

Mr Consolas emphasized that there was an increase in spending on main pensions (from € 29.477 billion to € 29.793 billion) and an increase in spending on family benefits (from € 1.087 billion to € 1.102 billion due to criteria) and added that almost 30% of the recruitments made by the State will be made in the field of public health.
