“As you know, Greece was the first Member State to conclude a partnership agreement with the European Commission for the new NSRF 2021-27,” he said, adding that “this priority is now followed by the approval of three sectoral programs worth 6.2 billion euros by the European Commission, as announced today “.

“Next week, an additional one billion euros is expected to be approved for the digital transformation program,” Schinas said.

“I do not remember in the recent past Greece having set up a new NSRF program so effective” he underlined, noting that “in this context we must see the opportunities offered by the new NSRF 2021-27”.

“By 2027, the partnership agreement for the new NSRF will provide Greece with almost 21 billion euros in Community funds to promote three key policy priorities:

1. Promoting smart growth with an emphasis on competitiveness and digital transition,

2. A greener Europe with low carbon emissions,

“A social Europe closer to its citizens that leaves no one behind,” said Margaritis Schoinas.

“For the first time, the Greek NSRF will have a special program for digital transformation that will be approved next week and will finance:

* More opportunities for digitizing companies and digital start-ups,

* Research and innovation in digital technologies,

* Connections in remote and rural areas,

“The improvement of e-government services” he stressed.

At the same time, as the Vice President of the Commission noted, “the new NSRF will invest in risk prevention and management and will increase the capacity of first-line response services”.

He added that “it will support better firefighting equipment, additional training and the mobilization of voluntary organizations,” he said.

Finally, Margaritis Schoinas, underlined that “the new NSRF 2021-27 focuses on categories of people who have difficulty integrating into the labor market, young people who do not work or are not in education or training, the long-term unemployed, and beneficiaries of international protection “.
